The Manor Woods Experience

The number one comment we receive from guests is “Everyone is so friendly.” There is a welcoming atmosphere of love and acceptance from the moment you walk through our doors. We are a large and growing family, encouraging each other when we are down, spurring one another when we need a nudge, and caring for each other. We know every church is different, and while there are many things we have in common with other churches, there are some very important distinctions that make us unique. Here is a quick look at what you can expect when you visit and a few of those characteristics that make Manor Woods special.

Here in their own words…

Brad

“What I love about Manor Woods is seeking and worshipping God with such a diverse group of people. We have so many distinct programs. We are all united in our desire to know God, to lift each other up, and grow in His Truth. And it shows on Sunday mornings.”

"The people of Manor Woods come from diverse backgrounds, experience, and cultures. We value our diversity and find common purpose in loving God and loving one another as Jesus did. You are invited to come as you are. Many people like to dress up for church, others dress more casually. Everyone is welcome and no one is judged. When you visit, you will be our respected guest. We will not ask you to introduce yourself to the congregation. You are simply invited to observe and participate with us at your level of comfort." - Brad Barrett

“Here there is no pretense or acting, no claims to perfection. I have only to come to church to be surrounded by people I respect ………”

"The message of God’s Word and our church is that He receives each of us as we are, but loves us too much to leave us that way. Our church is made up of everyday, ordinary people with weaknesses and vulnerabilities who attempt to cope with life’s struggles just like everyone else. But one of the greatest strengths of Christ’s church is that we are here for each other, offering friendship, support, a listening ear and an honest answer." - Jeff Fuller

Lottie MacConnell

“Our ministers…. they deliver powerful, soul-searching messages each week. Our music... is always uplifting with a great blend of the old and the new.”

“Is the preaching ‘preachy’?” Messages are taken from the Bible and are applied to everyday life. They incorporate teaching methods that make you think, challenge you personally, and leave you with something to think about for the rest of the week." - Lottie MacConnell

“I am continually amazed at the music each week at Manor Woods. It is always uplifting and inspirational.”

“What’s the music like?” We enjoy old and new praise and worship songs blended with the beautiful messages of hymns. We incorporate a wide variety of instruments (keyboard, strings, brass, drums and guitar) that help lead us in our singing. We try hard to give you good music because music stirs our feelings and helps open the door to worshipping our awesome God." - Chivita Chhut

"Church of Christ at Manor Woods is a very nice place to go on Sundays. Sunday School is fun- you get to hang out with your friends and learn about the Bible. Worship is good- it gives you time to think about God and reflect upon your life. The church has a youth group at night for junior and senior high-schoolers. I believe one of the best things about Church of Christ at Manor Woods is the friendly environment. Whether its shooting hoops with your friends, going on youth-related trips, or talking about life in small groups, church activities are fun and fulfilling, as they help your walk with God." - Chris Dove

"What I like about Manor Woods is the vibrant form of worship through music, prayer and powerful sermon.  The place where we can worship our true God in unity.  It makes me feel like it's heaven here on earth where different kinds of people are praising and worshiping God in one accord as one family of many cultures. Talking about spiritual food?  Manor Woods has  different Bible study groups  so you will go home filled with the word of God." - Alicia Eiselstein

“I experienced a lot of hard times growing up. Manor Woods accepted me right away and encouraged me to grow in the Lord and in personal relationships. I have a lot of fun now working with teenagers and the seniors. Manor Woods is the loving family that I have always wanted.”

"Church is about God and worship, acknowledging who we are and who God is. It is also about community and friendship. In such a nurturing and caring place, we can more easily find our own life’s bearing. One of the best ways to help ourselves is to help others. In service we can find true purpose in living. Many in Manor Woods are eager servants and there are so many opportunities for you to work hand in hand with others." - Cathy Kelley
